Magsaysay Institute of Shipping, Inc.

The Magsaysay Institute of Shipping (MIS) was founded in 1992 by Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Ltd., Fairmont Shipping (H.K.) Ltd., and Magsaysay. The training facility, located in Dasmariňas, Cavite, is envisioned to meet the growing demand for competent, disciplined and highly qualified deck and engine officers for the global seafaring labor force. MIS develops principal-specific Upgrading Courses that enhance the seafarer’s skills in preparation for a higher position onboard.

Today, MIS is continuously shaping the industry and has produced maritime professionals who are now Master Mariners and Chief Engineers onboard ships and shipping administrators ashore. Also, MIS expands its services by providing tailored-fit courses and training facilities to third party clients who invest in human resource development and training to power their business.
