The University of the Visayas – Maritime Training Center (UV-MTC) officially granted permission to operate by Maritime Training Council (MTC) in 1992.

To be an internationally recognized Maritime Training Center.
MISSION
UV-MTC helps seafarers and professionals enhance their skills to achieve their career goals in the Maritime Industry. In the delivery of courses, the Center ensures that the training provided to the trainees are certified according to the National Regulations, the ISO 9001 Standards and the STCW as amended. Towards this end, it provides a rewarding and challenging environment for instructors, assessors, staffs and trainees to kindle and sustain a passion for competence.
