Much of our success stems from our adherence to very high training standards and compliance to a “No Training No Deployment Policy,” which is realized through our in-house training center, NYK-Fil Maritime E-Training Inc. (NETI). An ISO 9001:2008 certified company, NETI is engaged in maritime training using state-of-the-art equipment and develops customized training courses designed to meet the specific requirements of Principals.
It is duly recognized by the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) for the practical assessment of newly passed Marine Deck and Engine Officers for which it developed scenarios for practical assessment and computerized grading of examinees’ performance using a Full Mission Bridge Simulator, a requirement of the MARINA. Training is conducted by active merchant marine officers who, fresh from their on board assignment, are tapped to join the faculty to share new shipboard knowledge and practices to trainees and cadets. These instructors are mostly “home-grown” who have been with us from the time they were under our cadetship training programs (CTPs), Situated in Canlubang, Calamba City, NETI houses the JSU-AMOSUP Training Levy funded Diesel Plant Simulator under the auspices of the IMMAJ/PJMCC.
